A video from 2022 has resurfaced showing Emiru’s rabbit care setup at her then-residence in Austin. The footage reveals an enclosed balcony or sunroom area lined with approximately 10–13 rabbits housed individually in small pet-store style cages and wooden hutches.
The walkthrough shows rabbits confined to two-level plastic and metal cages arranged along the perimeter of the space. Most cages contain visible pellet food bowls and water containers. A large floor fan sits in the middle of the room.
The most striking detail is the apparent lack of hay in nearly all cages. Hay typically makes up 80–90% of a rabbit’s diet and veterinary organizations recommend unlimited access. The House Rabbit Society and exotic animal vets consistently cite hay as essential for digestive health and dental wear.
Rabbit droppings are visible inside multiple cages and scattered across the tile floor. The cleanliness varies between enclosures. At least one rabbit appears to have overgrown nails based on viewer observations.
The setup existed during Texas summers when Austin regularly exceeds 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Rabbits are highly sensitive to heat and can suffer heatstroke above 85 degrees. While a fan provides air circulation, it does not lower the temperature like air conditioning would.
The individual cages appear small for full-time housing. Standard rabbit care guidance recommends daily exercise time and space to run and jump. Many owners use large playpens or free-roam arrangements with cages serving as resting areas only.
What remains unverified
Allegations have circulated that multiple rabbits later died. These claims have been attributed to statements allegedly made by Mizkif on stream but remain unverified through independent reporting or veterinary records.
The video itself does not show how often the rabbits exercised outside their cages or received cleaning. It does not document feeding routines beyond what pellets and water are visible in frame. No veterinary records or causes of death for any animals have been made public.
Emiru has not responded to requests for comment about the 2022 setup or the allegations about rabbit deaths. Her current pet care practices have not been documented publicly.
