Asmongold has responded to a controversial allegation made by Destiny against fellow streamer Hasan Piker during a recent stream. Destiny claimed that Hasan solicited an underage sex worker at a Berlin brothel years ago. The allegation came without any accompanying evidence.
Asmongold called the accusation extremely serious and suggested a clear path forward. If the claim is false, he said, Hasan should consider filing a defamation lawsuit against Destiny.
“That’s crazy,” Asmongold said while discussing the allegation. He emphasized that such serious accusations require evidence to support them. His response focused on the legal implications rather than endorsing or dismissing the claim outright.
The allegation references a visit Hasan allegedly made to Artemis, a large Berlin brothel. In April 2016, German authorities raided the venue with approximately 900 police and customs officers. The raid was part of investigations into human trafficking and tax-related offenses involving alleged Hells Angels associates.
While some trafficking-related convictions occurred in connection with the case, reporting indicated that operators of Artemis itself weren’t convicted on trafficking charges. Parts of the raid were later disputed in legal proceedings, and the city of Berlin had to pay the brothel €250,000.
The context matters for understanding the legal framework. Sex work is legal in Germany for adults, but prostitution by anyone under 18 is strictly illegal regardless of age of consent laws. German law prohibits commercial sex work for minors.
Destiny and Hasan have engaged in a years-long public feud marked by frequent mutual criticism and accusations. This history adds another layer to the allegation, with some observers suggesting the claim may be retaliatory rather than substantiated.
The defamation question
For a defamation case to succeed, public figures in the United States must typically prove “actual malice.” This means showing the person making the statement knew it was false or acted with reckless disregard for the truth. They must also demonstrate damages.
Statements made on stream can carry legal risk if accusations are presented as fact without supporting evidence. The burden of proof would fall on Hasan to establish that Destiny made the claim with actual malice.
At the time of writing, Destiny hasn’t provided public evidence supporting his allegation. The claim remains unverified, and no legal action has been announced.
