BrokenBlade pulled off one of the most impressive plays of the LEC split when his Shen survived a Team Heretics collapse and turned the tables for multiple kills in the bot-lane river area.
Three Heretics members began hunting down G2’s top laner near bot side. What looked like a clean finish for Heretics became a disaster when multiple players stepped into melee range of Shen.
The damage came from Shen’s empowered Q auto-attacks combined with a Titanic Hydra auto-reset. This combo lets Shen unload all three empowered strikes nearly instantly instead of across an extended trade. When you’re playing a squishy champion and walk into range, you simply explode.
Heretics mid laner Serin made the critical error by walking directly into Shen’s blade zone. Ezreal compounded the mistake by using Arcane Shift forward into auto range. Karma also got caught in the melee scramble.
The level gap made everything worse. BrokenBlade sat at level 16 and hit 17 during the fight. His opponents ranged from level 11 to 14. That difference turns what should be chip damage into executions.
Some of the Heretics players also attacked while inside Shen’s W zone, which negates basic attacks for a few seconds. This gave BrokenBlade extra time to survive the initial burst and start his counterattack.
