CD Projekt Red confirmed it will honor all purchases made during a brief Nintendo eShop pricing error that slashed prices on two of its flagship titles.
Cyberpunk 2077 appeared on the eShop with an unusually steep discount. Users reported seeing the game bundled with its DLC for around $17.49. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt also showed discounted pricing that didn’t match typical sale patterns for the platform.
Multiple buyers noticed Cyberpunk 2077 listed at roughly 75% off while The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt sat at around 42% off. These figures caught attention because they flipped expectations for how the studio typically discounts these games.
The main guess among shoppers is that CD Projekt accidentally swapped the discount percentages between the two titles. Cyberpunk 2077 rarely sees discounts that deep while The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt frequently goes on steep sales on other platforms.
CD Projekt later acknowledged the listings resulted from an internal pricing configuration error. The company corrected the discounts after the mistake was identified but stated it would not revoke or cancel purchases completed during the error window.
Deal hunters scored big on Switch
The pricing mistake stands out particularly on Nintendo’s platform. Switch eShop pricing runs higher than PC storefronts and deep discounts are less common. A $17.49 price point for a major AAA title plus expansion represents a significant departure from standard eShop sale pricing.
The error remained live long enough for many shoppers to complete transactions. Those who successfully checked out will keep access to their games at the mistaken price. Buyers who missed the window now see corrected pricing on the eShop.
