Costco has removed all Xbox products from its websites in both the United States and United Kingdom. The dedicated Xbox section vanished from both sites this week, taking console listings and related products with it.
Searches for Xbox Series X and Series S consoles now return empty results on Costco.com and Costco.co.uk. The navigation menus that previously featured Xbox alongside other gaming platforms have been updated to exclude Microsoft’s console entirely.
PlayStation and Nintendo sections remain fully operational on both websites. Shoppers can still browse and purchase PS5 consoles, Nintendo Switch systems, and their accessories through dedicated category pages.
Several customers report that Xbox gift cards have also disappeared from Costco’s offerings. These digital currency cards were popular among members who enjoyed the typical Costco discount on their Game Pass subscriptions and digital game purchases.
The removal happened without any announcement from Costco. The company hasn’t explained whether this is a temporary stock issue or a longer-term decision to stop selling Xbox products online.
This isn’t happening in isolation. Reports suggest Sam’s Club, another major warehouse retailer in the US, has stopped restocking Xbox products. The pattern raises questions about warehouse retailers stepping back from Xbox hardware sales.
Where’s the beef with Xbox?
Microsoft has publicly committed to developing next-generation Xbox hardware, announcing partnerships with AMD for future consoles earlier this year. The company continues to push its Game Pass subscription service as a cornerstone of its gaming strategy.
Whether Xbox consoles remain available in physical Costco warehouses is still unclear. The online removal doesn’t automatically mean in-store stock has been pulled, and the company hasn’t confirmed any changes to its brick-and-mortar inventory.
