Several of the threats specifically referenced TwitchCon as a potential location for an encounter. Destiny used the compilation to criticize Twitch’s enforcement of its own violence and threats policy.
The segment featured clips from various dates. Some threats were recent while others dated back weeks or months. Destiny presented them together to demonstrate what he described as a pattern of threatening behavior going unaddressed by the platform.
During his reaction, Destiny questioned why Twitch allows these statements to remain on the platform without enforcement action. He pointed to the safety implications of threats targeting a specific real-world event.
Destiny has been permanently banned from Twitch since March 2022. The platform did not publicly disclose specific reasons for the ban. He continues streaming on YouTube and other platforms but cannot participate in official Twitch programming.
Twitch’s Community Guidelines explicitly prohibit threats of violence or physical harm against individuals. The rules state that contextual qualifiers like “in a video game” don’t exempt violent threats directed at real people. TwitchCon operates under its own Code of Conduct that bars harassment and threats.
The platform has enforced these rules before. Streamer Erobb221 received a 30-day suspension in September 2022 after joking about beating up a viewer at TwitchCon. Twitch cited “threats of violence” in that case.
No public enforcement actions related to the threats in Destiny’s compilation have been announced. Neither Twitch nor the streamers featured in the clips have issued statements about the segment.
The clips remain viewable on Twitch at the time of reporting. TwitchCon typically features bag checks and on-site security. Event organizers have not commented on safety protocols related to these specific threats.
