Destiny pulled up U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s official “End of Watch” memorial page during a recent livestream and reacted in real-time to what he found.
The political streamer browsed through ICE’s public memorial listings, which document employees who have died while serving. Each entry includes the person’s name, role, date of death, and cause.
COVID-19 appeared repeatedly as the cause of death throughout the entries Destiny scrolled past. The frequency stood in stark contrast to what might be expected from a federal law enforcement agency’s memorial list.
The page also listed several other causes. Cancer appeared multiple times. One entry noted an accidental discharge of a firearm. Another described a heart attack that occurred during a foot pursuit.
ICE’s End of Watch page is publicly available on ICE.gov and follows the law enforcement tradition of memorializing personnel deaths. The term “End of Watch” typically refers to an officer’s death while in service or employed.
During the peak pandemic years, COVID-19 became a leading cause of death among working-age public safety employees across multiple U.S. agencies. Law enforcement personnel faced heightened exposure due to close-contact work environments, public-facing duties, and detention facilities.
The clip gained traction online for the contrast between expected line-of-duty dangers and the actual causes listed on the official memorial page.
