Steven “Destiny” Bonnell II is facing renewed scrutiny after online investigators claim they’ve verified the identity and age of someone he allegedly exchanged explicit messages with in 2021–2022. The individual, known online as “Rose,” was allegedly 17 years old at the time of the interactions.
The allegations center on claims that internet researchers have linked Rose’s online persona to her real identity through a publicly accessible traffic citation. The document allegedly shows a date of birth confirming she was under 18 during the exchanges with Destiny, who was approximately 32–33 years old at the time.
According to screenshots and chat logs circulating online, Destiny allegedly engaged in sexually explicit messaging and media exchanges with Rose through Twitter and Discord. The logs reportedly show Destiny asking if she was “legal” at one point, then continuing to sext when she didn’t provide a clear answer.
The alleged evidence includes visual markers matching public photos to leaked images, including a distinctive mole visible in both sets of pictures. Investigators claim these physical identifiers, combined with the traffic citation, definitively establish Rose’s identity and age during the alleged interactions.
Chat logs allegedly show Destiny commenting that Rose looked young and even stating he “should ask for an ID.” Despite these apparent concerns, the exchanges allegedly continued. Other messages reportedly reference her living situation with parents and wearing braces, details that some view as potential indicators of her age.
Destiny’s reported defense, as characterized in online discussions, centers on his belief that Rose was of legal age. She allegedly had “18+” in her public social media bios and reportedly told him in direct messages that she was 19. She also allegedly sold adult content online and maintained a Tinder account, activities that typically require users to be 18 or older.
The streamer has publicly responded on Twitter saying: “remember to check IDs, guys!” and has been posting through the pain, trying to cope.
Additional allegations suggest Destiny may have shared images of Rose within a private Discord server to help identify her. If any of these images depicted someone under 18, redistributing them could potentially violate laws regarding explicit content involving minors.
The situation highlights ongoing challenges with age verification on social media platforms. While many sites have implemented stricter verification measures in recent years, most platforms during 2021–2022 relied primarily on self-reported ages. In many jurisdictions, believing someone is of legal age is not a valid defense if they turn out to be a minor.
Rose, who is allegedly around 20 years old now, has not publicly commented on the renewed attention to these allegations. No formal legal action or platform enforcement has been reported in connection with these latest claims.
