A clip from a recent livestream shows streamer Sketch asking TheBurntPeanut how to make a dog collar. Peanut’s response turned the innocent question into a jab at big daddy Hasan.
“The high-tier ones are in the Hasan room,” BurntPeanut said. He then added another line: “Rumors on the street his dog is dead now.”
The joke references collargate involving Hasan Piker. If you’re not chronically online, he allegedly used a shock collar on his dog on stream. When his dog Kaya goes to get off her dog bed, he reaches off camera and she immediately yelps in pain and goes back to the bed.
Hasan has faced criticism over what happened. His viewers consistently give different explanations about what happened, but always find a way to explain it away. The controversy has become a recurring joke, for everyone besides Hasan of course..
Shock collars deliver electric stimulation to dogs and remain legal in most U.S. states. Animal welfare advocates criticize their use when applied improperly or as a convenience tool rather than for training purposes.
