The Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages has successfully raised $85,000 for Make-A-Wish and secured the right to add a memorial NPC to The Elder Scrolls VI. The character will honor Loranna Pyrel, a beloved community member who recently passed away.
Bethesda hosted a charity auction earlier this year that offered the chance to add an NPC to the next Elder Scrolls game. UESP participated but lost to a higher bid. Instead of walking away empty-handed, Bethesda presented them with an alternative: raise an amount equal to the winning bid, and they’d still add UESP’s proposed character.
UESP launched a fundraising campaign and met the $85,000 target. The organization announced the achievement on social media, confirming the NPC would memorialize Loranna Pyrel.
Loranna Pyrel was a prominent figure on Bethesda’s official forums during the earlier Elder Scrolls era. She created extensive roleplay threads that became influential within the fanbase and reportedly informed aspects of the series’ lore. Her contributions left a lasting impact on the community that stretches back decades.
UESP has served as the Elder Scrolls community’s primary resource since the mid-1990s. The volunteer-driven wiki documents every detail of the franchise and regularly organizes community projects. Their decision to honor Loranna Pyrel reflects her significance to fans who’ve followed the series for years.
Bethesda hasn’t shared any details about how the memorial NPC will appear in the game. No information about the character’s name, location, or role has been revealed yet. But we did get this update from the UESP team this week.
This isn’t Bethesda’s first in-game memorial. Skyrim featured Erik the Slayer, a character added to honor fan Erik West after his passing. The studio has also committed to including Shirley Curry, known as “Skyrim Grandma,” in The Elder Scrolls VI. Curry underwent photogrammetry scans years ago to be recreated in the game.
Make-A-Wish partners with entertainment companies to fulfill wishes and raise funds for children with critical illnesses. Bethesda leadership has previously discussed hosting Make-A-Wish families at their studio, emphasizing how these visits give their development teams purpose and perspective.
The Elder Scrolls VI was first teased in 2018 with a brief trailer. Full-scale development began after Starfield shipped in September 2023. Bethesda has not announced a release date or confirmed which platforms will support the game.
