Hundreds of fans eager to meet streamer IShowSpeed got more than they bargained for when a floating wooden structure collapsed beneath them during an impromptu meetup in Estonia. The wild scene, which happened during one of Speed’s IRL streams, sent dozens of mostly young fans plunging into shallow water below.
Things went sideways after IShowSpeed (real name Darren Watkins Jr.) gave away his location during a livestream, prompting local fans to rush to the area. As crowds gathered on what looks like a floating dock or pier, the wooden structure quickly became way overloaded.
Footage from Speed’s stream catches the moment the bridge gave way at its weakest point, partially collapsing under the excessive weight. Young fans went tumbling into the water, though luckily the shallow depth meant no one got seriously hurt.
True to form, the 19-year-old American streamer tried to jump in and help, approaching the wrecked bridge on a jet ski. The move, which some viewers thought was mostly for show, didn’t do much to help but definitely kept everyone glued to the stream.
Local authorities were already there, expecting possible crowd problems. The collapse happened even with their efforts to keep things under control, which has people asking if enough was really done to keep everyone safe.
This isn’t the first time an IShowSpeed meetup has turned into a mess. The streamer, who got big thanks to his loud personality and viral soccer content—especially about Cristiano Ronaldo—regularly draws huge crowds wherever he goes. These gatherings usually pop up without much planning or any real security.
Photos from after the meetup show the damage: the bridge with broken planks hanging into the water. Local reports say the pier will need a major fix or maybe a full replacement.
