Russel addressed his knowledge of the Mizkif and Emiru situation on stream this week. The former roommate said he and others in the house initially had no idea the two were dating because they used a pet door connecting their rooms to visit each other without being seen.
The setup allowed Mizkif and Emiru to move between spaces late at night without using common areas or hallways. Russel said the house’s unusual layout and size meant roommates often went days or weeks without crossing paths.
He made clear he never witnessed abuse while living there. But when he later asked both parties about specific disputed claims, the stories didn’t match. Mizkif denied certain things that Emiru then proved to Russel with evidence.
“Not my relationship, not my responsibility,” Russel said. He explained he backed away from house drama after the 2022 CrazySlick controversy and wanted no part in relationship disputes between friends.
The house itself was a custom streaming mansion with multiple pet doors built into interior walls and regular doors. Old house tour footage shows a doggy door near Mizkif’s desk in his stream room. Another connected Emiru’s streaming space to Mizkif’s bedroom. A TikTok from the house shows Emiru physically crawling through one of these interior pet doors.
Mizkif and Emiru had rooms upstairs near each other. Russel and another roommate named Simply lived downstairs on the opposite side of the property. Emiru confirmed on stream before that she sometimes went weeks without seeing or talking to the downstairs roommates.
The revelation comes amid renewed public discussion of Emiru’s allegations about controlling and abusive behavior during their relationship. Mizkif has addressed some claims on stream, acknowledging anger issues and controlling behavior while disputing other specifics.
Russel limited his comments to what he personally confirmed. He didn’t claim to have seen physical violence or escalating disputes. His perspective offers insight into how a relationship could remain hidden in a shared house and how conflicting accounts from both sides left him questioning what actually happened.
The Austin property functioned as a content house with converted studios and custom features throughout. Multiple streamers lived and worked there, but the sheer size meant they operated almost independently. Russel positioned his remarks as explaining why roommates might genuinely not know what was happening between two people living under the same roof.
