The announcement came with a brief teaser showcasing Mount Fuji towering over a serene lake. Sharp-eyed fans have already identified the location as Lake Kawaguchi, one of the iconic Fuji Five Lakes. The scenic vista promises the kind of postcard-perfect driving routes the series is known for.
Japan represents the most requested setting in Forza Horizon history. The country’s legendary car culture spans everything from underground street racing to mountain pass drifting. Tokyo’s neon-lit expressways, winding touge roads, and coastal highways offer the perfect mix of speed and scenery.
The timing makes sense for Playground Games. Forza Horizon 5 launched in 2021 and took players to Mexico’s diverse landscapes. A five-year gap between mainline entries gives the studio time to craft something special while supporting the current game with expansions and updates.
