Supergiant Games dropped a launch trailer confirming Hades II‘s full release on September 25. The roguelike sequel exits Early Access with a complete story and launches on PC and Nintendo platforms, including the unannounced Switch 2.
The trailer’s platform list shows Steam, Epic Games Store, Nintendo Switch, and “Switch 2” as day-one options. PlayStation and Xbox players will have to wait longer. This follows Supergiant’s pattern from the first Hades, which launched on PC and Switch before expanding to other consoles a year later.
Players who’ve been battling through Early Access since May 2024 can finally see how Melinoë’s quest ends. The 1.0 version includes all story content and proper endings that were deliberately held back during the testing phase.
Most Early Access progress carries forward to the full release. Players keep their unlocks, resources, and meta-progression. However, some late-game boss drops will reset to ensure the new story sequences work properly. Supergiant plans to compensate affected players with cosmetic currency.
Cross-save functionality between PC and Switch versions means players can continue their runs across platforms. This popular feature from the original Hades returns, letting you start a run on your gaming PC and finish it on the go.
The sequel puts players in control of Melinoë, Princess of the Underworld and Zagreus’ sister. She fights against Chronos, the Titan of Time, who has taken over her home. Unlike the first game’s single-direction escape attempts, Hades II features both underworld descents and surface ascents.
Early Access buyers experienced substantial content over the past months. Major updates added the Olympus region, new gods like Apollo and Hestia, and gameplay systems including Omega moves and Arcana Cards. The game already offers more content than the complete first Hades.
