TL;DR
  • Hades II’s "Unseen Update" brings Extreme Measures, Hidden Aspects, and finishes off most major gameplay content.
  • This is the last big update before the full 1.0 release coming later this year.
  • The final story and ending are still being saved for launch.

Supergiant Games has launched the “Unseen Update” for Hades II, marking the last big batch of new content before the game’s full release. Available now for everyone playing in early access on PC, this update drops several fan-favorite features from the original Hades that players have been waiting for.

This latest patch introduces Extreme Measures, which brings tougher boss versions, and Hidden Aspects for weapons that mix up your build options and add more variety to fights. These two core features from the first game were missing from early access before, so fans will be glad to see them return.

Players will also notice that many placeholders have been swapped out for finished content. Narcissus finally has his real character art—pretty fitting for a character who always brags about his good looks. There’s also new music, with tracks for the Sirens and Scylla boss fights.

“With the Unseen Update, we’ve added pretty much all the major gameplay systems we planned for Hades II,” Supergiant Games said in their announcement. “The 1.0 release will be focused on wrapping up the story and putting on the final polish.”

At this point, all the expected zones, bosses, gods, and big gameplay mechanics are now in the game. The only thing still missing is the end of Melinoë’s story—Supergiant is holding off on adding the last part of the story and the ending until the official launch.
