IShowSpeed had a close call during a recent IRL broadcast when he stepped onto a rooftop in Egypt that couldn’t support his weight. The panel beneath him gave way and opened a hole that he partially dropped through before catching himself.
This happened as Speed was exploring an area with a roof made of thin metal sheeting. These lightweight panels are common in some regions as overhead covering but aren’t designed to be walked on. When Speed put his full weight on an unsupported section, the sheet buckled and collapsed.
The opening exposed the interior space below. Some viewers noted that the fall distance appeared to be around 10 feet, which is enough to cause serious injury depending on how someone lands. Beyond the drop itself, torn metal roofing creates jagged edges that can cause deep cuts or puncture wounds.
Speed managed to pull back and avoid fully falling through. The moment was captured on the livestream and quickly turned into a popular clip on various platforms.
The streamer has been doing more frequent travel content lately, filming in public spaces and unfamiliar locations. IRL streams don’t allow for the safety checks or scouting that pre-recorded exploration content does. Everything happens live, which means quick decisions without time to verify whether a surface is stable or a structure is safe to climb.
