Streamer Jack Doherty was kicked out of a PGA Tour tournament after allegedly paying someone $100 to disrupt players during their swings. A viral clip shows security confronting Doherty and informing him he’s been banned from all future PGA Tour events.
This happened when someone in Doherty’s group screamed while golfers were in the middle of hitting their shots. Yelling during a swing is one of the most serious violations of golf spectator etiquette and typically results in immediate removal.
Tournament officials confront Doherty about the disruption in the video. He attempts to defend himself by claiming he wasn’t the one who yelled. Security was not interested in the distinction and shut down the conversation quickly.
The official told Doherty the discussion was over and that he was being removed from the grounds. More significantly, Doherty was informed he’s banned from attending future PGA Tour tournaments.
Professional golf maintains strict silence rules during player swings because the motion requires intense concentration and fine motor control. Sudden noise can distract players and interfere with competition. Tournament marshals regularly remove spectators for yelling, heckling, or other disruptive behavior.
The PGA Tour and individual tournament organizers have the authority to issue both single-event ejections and broader bans. Security can remove attendees without needing a criminal violation simply for disrupting play or violating venue rules.
The clip shows Doherty reacting defensively when confronted, telling officials he “doesn’t care” about being banned while simultaneously trying to argue his case. His attempt to distance himself from the yelling by claiming someone else did it fell flat with security, who treated him as responsible regardless of who physically made the noise.
