Jasontheween walked into a New York City bakery during a livestream and ended up in a 30-minute battle to give away $1,000 in cash.
The interaction started normally enough. Jasontheween visited New Cameron Bakery on Canal Street for baked goods and struck up conversation with a worker. She mentioned working 15-hour shifts and feeling isolated, saying she had no friends and felt too old to be putting in such long hours.
That’s when Jasontheween decided to tip her $1,000. But there was just one problem, he didn’t have cash on him.
He left the bakery, found a nearby ATM, and returned with a stack of bills. What followed was the opposite of a typical robbery—the worker refused to take the money, repeatedly telling him not to give it away and suggesting he give it to his parents instead.
Jasontheween kept insisting. At one point he told her “I just ran an ad and made this,” referencing how he’d earned the money through his livestream. The worker appeared to think he was a broke student and didn’t want to take money from someone who needed it.
After she finally accepted and he placed the cash in her hand, Jasontheween immediately bolted from the shop. The abrupt exit—giving money then fleeing the scene—earned the moment its “reverse robbery” label among viewers.
