Kai Cenat has publicly declined an invitation to participate in MrBeast’s upcoming charity livestream after learning that Adin Ross would also be taking part. In a clip circulating online, Cenat made his position clear, saying he would not join the charity event if Ross remained on the roster.
The refusal points out a big split between two of streaming’s biggest names. Cenat, who won Streamer of the Year in 2023 and has broken loads of Twitch subscription records, was expected to bring his huge audience to help raise money for MrBeast’s cause.
MrBeast, known for organizing massive fundraising events for environmental and humanitarian projects, usually brings together a lineup of top creators to rake in as many donations as possible. Without Cenat, the stream might not reach as many viewers—or raise as much cash—as it could’ve.
What started as a close friendship between Cenat and Ross has pretty much fallen apart. The two used to work together all the time when they were first starting out, but people close to them say their friendship went downhill because of some of Ross’s controversial choices.
Ross’s switch from Twitch to Kick, his promotion of gambling content to mostly younger fans, and his political moves—including putting Donald Trump on his stream—apparently played a big role in Cenat pulling away.
“Kai completely cut contact after Adin publicly supported Trump and had him on stream,” one insider said, adding that concerns about gambling content targeting younger viewers had already put a serious strain on their friendship.
Now, the charity stream that’s supposed to raise big money for good causes has to deal with these personal issues among some of its biggest guests, all while keeping the focus on helping others. MrBeast hasn’t said anything about Cenat dropping out, sticking with his usual style of steering clear of online drama that could distract from his fundraising.
