Ludwig experienced every sim racer’s nightmare during his latest stream. While practicing in Assetto Corsa ahead of next weekend’s GP Explorer 3 race in France, he lost control entering a corner and sent his virtual F4 car spinning into a barrier. Then things got weird.
The crash triggered a physics glitch that launched Ludwig’s car straight through the track and into empty space. The spin started when Ludwig approached a corner too fast and lost front grip.
He tried to correct by adding more steering while braking, a common mistake that makes things worse. His front tires locked up and stopped gripping the track entirely. Once the car started rotating, there was no saving it.
Ludwig has been preparing intensively for GP Explorer 3, where he’ll drive real F4 race cars alongside Michael Reeves. The two have traveled to France multiple times for professional coaching and track sessions. GP Explorer is one of Europe’s biggest creator racing events, organized by French YouTuber Squeezie.
F4 cars are serious machines. They’re entry-level single-seaters with significant downforce and speeds that demand respect. Ludwig will need every bit of practice he can get, though simulators have limitations. Real cars provide physical feedback through g-forces and tire feel that no sim can fully replicate.
The good news is that GP Explorer takes safety seriously. Drivers undergo medical checks and extensive training before race day. The cars have carbon safety cells, and professional marshals and medical teams stand ready trackside. If Ludwig does spin for real, he’ll be in much safer hands than his virtual self falling through the map.
