A former top moderator of the popular livestreaming community LivestreamFail stale2000 got called out during a recent broadcast when he refused to provide evidence for his claims about refunds.
The human personification of a reddit mod addressed ongoing allegations about a creator-focused project called $20 million dollar fan that he helped promote that many viewers believe was a scam. During the stream, he insisted that people who paid money for the project were refunded.
But when pressed to show documentation, things got awkward.
He claimed to have logs that would prove the refunds happened. He just wouldn’t show them. His reasoning bounced between several explanations: he didn’t feel like presenting the proof at that moment, someone else would eventually prove it, and he might want to save the evidence for a YouTube video instead.
The project in question was described as a streamer house or reality show concept with rumored Amazon connections, and a prize pool 4 times the size of Mr. Beast’s Amazon show. It collected money from participants before its website and social media presence went dark, and explicitly did not offer refunds.
The clip got shared everywhere because the refund question sits at the heart of determining whether this was a failed project or actual fraud. Without documentation showing transaction IDs, refund dates, or confirmation from payment processors, the claim remains unverified.
The receipts that weren’t shown
Proof of refunds typically requires specific evidence. Payment processor logs showing transaction IDs and refund status. Screenshots from customers showing both the original charge and the posted refund. Or a statement from the project organizers detailing how many purchases were made versus how many were refunded.
None of that appeared during the stream. The exchange left several key questions unanswered: How many people paid into the project? What was the total amount collected? Were refunds universal or partial? Did the organizers issue them voluntarily or were they chargebacks?
