Forsen attempted a gap jump during a Minecraft speedrun in the Nether and didn’t make it across. The failed jump appears to have ended the run on the spot.
The clip shows Forsen backing up to build momentum before committing to the leap. He falls short of the landing and the run collapses. Based on viewer discussion, the jump likely sent him toward lava or into an unrecoverable position.
The location appears to be in or near a Nether Fortress. These structures are critical for speedruns because they contain blazes, which drop blaze rods needed to craft Eyes of Ender and locate the End portal.
Forsen had blocks in his hotbar that could have made the crossing safer. Building up two blocks or placing a bridge would’ve been the conservative play. Instead, he went for the jump and missed.
According to viewers, Forsen switched to cheat mode after the failed jump and declared the seed dead. This tracks with speedrunning behavior where runners mentally abandon attempts that no longer have competitive potential.
Why the seed was already questionable
The run may’ve been doomed before the jump. Speedrunners prefer specific routing sequences through the Nether, and this seed appears to have been “fortress first” when Forsen wanted “bastion first.”
Bastion Remnants provide piglin bartering opportunities for resources like ender pearls and obsidian. Finding a fortress before a bastion disrupts the optimal resource flow for many runners. If the seed routing was already unfavorable, the risky jump might’ve been a symptom of Forsen not caring enough to play carefully.
