A resurfaced video shows content creator Nina Lin describing how she regularly beat her younger brother throughout his childhood in an account that includes Child Protective Services intervention and lasting psychological harm.
She states she began physically abusing her brother when he was approximately six years old and she was around eight. The abuse continued for years.
Lin says the situation escalated to the point that CPS became involved. She also states her brother developed suicidal thoughts in connection with the abuse she inflicted on him.
The abuse included both physical beatings and psychological components. According to Lin’s account in the video, she continued the pattern until she was around 17 years old.
Lin frames the account within a broader discussion of trauma cycles. She indicates it took years before she could apologize to her brother and reflects on how her own upbringing affected her ability to show affection or regulate her behavior.
The original recording date of the discussion panel is unclear. The video resurfaced this week through online communities focused on streaming and content creator news.
