Nintendo briefly went live with an official My Nintendo news page that appeared to reveal an unannounced update for Mario Kart World. The page was accessible to some users before showing an error screen for others, suggesting Nintendo quickly restricted or removed it after the early posting.
The leak centers on an updated Battle Mode icon spotted on the page. Mario Kart World currently features two Battle Mode options: Balloon Battle and Coin Runners. The icon displayed on the leaked page showed both existing mode symbols plus a third element—a Bob-omb.
The addition of a Bob-omb to the Battle Mode icon strongly suggests Nintendo is adding Bob-omb Blast as a third Battle Mode option. In previous Mario Kart games, Bob-omb Blast is a competitive mode where players exclusively use Bob-ombs to score points against opponents rather than popping balloons or collecting coins.
The page reportedly referenced an event running from March 5th to March 25th. This timing points to a potential MAR10 Day reveal, with March 10th being Nintendo’s annual celebration of all things Mario. The company frequently uses this date for Mario franchise announcements, promotions, and content drops.
The page exists in limbo
As the leak spread, the My Nintendo news page URL returned different results for different users. Some can still access the full page while others receive an error message. This inconsistency suggests the page may be region-restricted, caught in caching delays, or partially unpublished rather than fully deleted.
Nintendo hasn’t officially commented on the leaked page or confirmed Bob-omb Blast for Mario Kart World. The company typically reserves formal announcements for social media channels and Nintendo Direct presentations.
