Riot Games has issued a permanent ID ban to Brazilian League of Legends streamer Yiok after he threatened violence and sexual assault against company employees during a live stream.

The ban came after Yiok lost a secondary account and responded by stating in Portuguese that if Riot banned his main account, he would go to the company’s office and rape everyone there. The threat was made while streaming League of Legends.

Yiok later appealed directly to Riot’s Drew Levin on X, writing “League of Legends is my life.” Levin responded publicly by posting a clip of the threat and confirming the ID ban.

An ID ban is the harshest penalty Riot can issue. Unlike a standard account ban, it targets the person across all Riot titles including League of Legends, Valorant, and Teamfight Tactics. The banned individual cannot create new accounts, and Riot monitors for ban evasion.

This type of enforcement is sometimes called the “Tyler1 treatment” after streamer Tyler Steinkamp received a similar person-level ban in 2016. That ban was eventually lifted after Riot determined Tyler1 had reformed his behavior. Other high-profile cases include XJ9 and several regional streamers over the years.

Levin clarified in follow-up posts that Riot will act on conduct that happens while creators stream Riot games. He confirmed another player, BatemanL9, received the same punishment and stated he would review additional clips if submitted.

Brazilian community members have noted Yiok’s history of toxic behavior, including alleged racist and antisemitic language, though Riot has not publicly cited these as causes for the ban. The on-stream threat against staff appears to be the stated trigger for enforcement.

When threatening a game company goes wrong

The timing of Yiok’s appeal made the situation particularly absurd. He contacted Levin claiming the game was his life just as evidence of his violent threat circulated online.

Levin’s response with receipts turned the appeal into a public confirmation of the permanent ban.
