Sandfall Interactive dropped a surprise “Thank You Update” for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 today. The update is live now across all platforms and includes a substantial chunk of free content.

The centerpiece is a new late-game area designed for Act 3 players. This zone features fresh enemies, story content, and what players describe as a proper endgame dungeon with challenging boss encounters.

Photo mode headlines the feature additions. Players can now pause the action both during exploration and mid-battle to capture screenshots. The in-combat photo mode lets players freeze frame attacks and abilities for dramatic shots.

Sandfall also overhauled the Lumina system with quality-of-life improvements. Players can now save up to 50 Lumina loadouts, ending the tedious manual switching between builds. The update adds granular filtering options that sort Luminas by effect type including solo effects, item effects, healing effects, and base attack modifiers.

New costumes shown in the trailer round out the content drop. The outfits appear tied to the new area’s theme and diverge from the game’s usual aesthetic.

The update lands as a celebration rather than paid DLC. Players who recently finished the base game now have a reason to jump back in without pulling out their wallets. Sandfall positioned the content specifically for late-game progression, meaning new players won’t access it until reaching Act 3.
