Valve published Steam’s “Best of 2025” year-end charts this month. The lists show which games earned the most revenue on the platform during 2025.
Steam breaks products into four revenue tiers rather than providing exact rankings. Platinum represents the highest earners, followed by Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Within each tier, games appear in randomized order to hide precise placement.
The charts include a “Top 100 products released in 2025, by revenue” list that focuses exclusively on new releases. A separate “Top Sellers” list tracks overall revenue regardless of release date.
ARC Raiders landed in the Platinum tier despite launching late in the year. The extraction shooter released during a crowded window that included Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Player counts reportedly peaked above 439,000 concurrent users on Steam, showing strong retention for a late-year release.
Cyberpunk 2077 placed in the Gold tier for 2025 revenue. The single-player game has appeared on Steam’s annual charts every year since its 2020 launch, moving between Platinum, Gold, and Silver tiers across different years.
Other notable placements include Hollow Knight: Silksong, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Civilization VII, Borderlands 4, Monster Hunter Wilds, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II across the top tiers.
How Steam tracks revenue
Steam’s revenue figures include base game purchases, deluxe editions, DLC, and in-game microtransactions where applicable. Free-to-play games can appear on the charts through monetization revenue alone.
These lists were generated around December 1–15 and will receive final data updates in January 2026. Different chart types may show different tiers for the same game depending on cutoff dates and methodology.
