Stevi, the American wife of an Iranian cast member Mahdi from TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé, has publicly called out YouTuber iDubbbz and his wife Anisa Jomha over a livestream segment where they mocked her husband.
The call-out came after a clip circulated online showing iDubbbz and Anisa reacting to footage of Mahdi discussing his experience in Iran. In that clip, the Iranian man described Iran as oppressive and talked about fearing the regime while experiencing culture shock in the United States.
Instead of acknowledging his account, iDubbbz and Anisa can be heard dismissing his statements and mocking his accent. Multiple viewers described the segment as the couple labeling him a “propagandist” and pushing back against his characterization of Iran as an authoritarian state.
Mahdi had been discussing his adjustment to life in New Orleans and comparing his experiences to life under Iran’s government. His comments touched on the restrictions and fears he faced in his home country before coming to America.
Stevi’s response appears to frame the clip as “US Propaganda” rhetoric being used to discredit her husband’s personal testimony about conditions in Iran. She directly addressed iDubbbz in her statement, defending her husband’s lived experience against what she saw as belittling commentary from the creators.
The timing makes the dismissal particularly controversial. Iran’s government has been widely documented by international human rights organizations for enforcing strict social controls, punishing dissent, and cracking down on protesters.
