A Korean streamer named G띠 has reportedly finished Pearl Abyss’ upcoming action-adventure Crimson Desert ahead of its official release and shared impressions before the review embargo lifts.
The streamer claims to have completed the game on a high-end PC running an RTX 5080 GPU at 1440p resolution. According to their report, they experienced zero frame drops or stutters while playing on the “Cinematic” graphics preset.
That Cinematic setting sits above Ultra and represents a maxed-out visual mode that can be dramatically more demanding than standard high presets. The fact that performance reportedly held steady on such settings suggests strong optimization, at least on powerful hardware.
G띠 also drew a comparison to Red Dead Redemption 2 in terms of pacing. Having logged around 600 hours in Rockstar’s western epic, they suggested Crimson Desert follows a similar tempo—more deliberate and immersive rather than constant speedy action. The comparison focused on the game’s rhythm and immersion, not necessarily story quality.
New PS5 gameplay footage has also surfaced, addressing concerns from players worried about base console performance. Much of the marketing material shown so far has been PC-focused, making this console footage a notable addition.
The game reportedly features multiple playable characters in a GTA-style switching system. The main story follows Kliff, with at least two additional characters—an orc and a woman—available mostly for side content with different weapons and skills.
Estimates suggest the main story plus some side content could run between 50 and 80 hours, with the game divided into five regions. Some players have mentioned spending 50 hours in just the first region alone.
What is Crimson Desert
Crimson Desert is a single-player action-adventure from Pearl Abyss, the South Korean studio behind Black Desert Online. The developer is known for pushing high-fidelity visuals and large-scale environments using proprietary technology rather than licensing third-party engines like Unreal.
The project has been in development for years and has shifted in perception from potential MMO spinoff to full-fledged narrative-driven open-world game.
