T1 jungler Moon “Oner” Hyeon-joon said he would choose staying with T1 for his entire career over being recognized as the greatest jungler of all time. The statement came during an interview on Korean TV where he was asked about his goals as a professional player and how he wants to be remembered.
Oner made it clear that team loyalty matters more to him than individual legacy. He framed himself as a “one-club man” who would prioritize continuity with T1 and its fanbase above being recognized as one of the best League of Legends players of all time.
The 23-year-old jungler has been with T1 since late 2020 and became the team’s full-time starter in 2021. He won the Worlds three times alongside Faker and has secured multiple LCK titles. He’s widely considered one of the best junglers in the world, known for his aggressive style and strong synergy with Faker and Keria.
The timing of his statement carries extra weight. Former T1 ADC Gumayusi had expressed similar “T1 for life” sentiments before departing the organization following the 2025 season. Despite talking about wanting to be the face of T1 after Faker, Gumayusi was benched during the 2025 season for rookie ADC Smash and ultimately parted ways with the team.
Top laner Zeus also left T1 at the end of 2024 after contract negotiations reportedly didn’t meet his market value. These departures have put T1’s roster management and contract decisions under scrutiny from fans and observers.
Oner is positioning himself in the tradition of Faker, who has spent his entire career with T1 and holds an ownership stake in the organization. Faker turned down massive offers from Chinese teams to remain with T1.
Why Oner’s commitment matters more than you’d think
The current shortage of elite junglers makes Oner’s loyalty particularly valuable for T1. After veterans like Peanut retired, the pool of world-class jungle talent has tightened significantly. Several top LCK teams struggle to find junglers at Oner’s level.
For T1, Oner forms a critical mid-jungle-support spine with Faker and Keria. Replacing him would be far more disruptive than finding a new ADC, given the importance of jungle synergy in early game skirmishes and overall macro play.
Whether Oner can actually achieve his one-club dream remains to be seen. LCK salary cap regulations force teams to balance star salaries carefully, and T1 has already let other key players walk for financial reasons.
