Los Ratones have been eliminated from LEC Versus after finishing ninth in the standings. The result means the team won’t advance to the playoff bracket and won’t play any best-of series.
Shortly after the elimination became official, top laner Thebausffs posted on X that he’s done with LEC play for now. He wrote that he has “a lot of emotions” and will take time for himself. He thanked fans for their support and apologized for not performing better.
The elimination came down to tight margins. Los Ratones needed one more win to break into the top eight and qualify for playoffs. Their final match against Team Vitality proved decisive. LR built a significant gold lead but threw it away and lost. That loss sealed their fate.
An earlier upset loss to Karmine Corp Blue also haunted them. KCB is a tier-two team from the European Regional Leagues. That single result made the difference in the final standings where multiple teams finished with similar records.
Los Ratones started the split terribly at 0–4. Then something clicked. They went 4–4 in the second week and looked like a completely different team. By the end they were playing at playoff level. It just wasn’t enough to overcome the early hole.
The roster featured some of League’s biggest names. Thebausffs brought his massive streaming audience. Rekkles returned as the legendary ADC. Nemesis took mid lane. YamatoCannon coached. The team was originally formed for a different tournament but got invited to LEC Versus and extended their run.
What happens next
The team’s future looks uncertain. Los Ratones was always meant to be a temporary project. They only extended to play in LEC Versus. Now that the tournament is over, the roster will likely disband.
Thebausffs appears ready to return to full-time streaming. He never planned to commit to pro play long-term. Rekkles framed this tournament as potentially his last shot at proving himself. Nemesis performed well enough that LEC teams might come calling. YamatoCannon is reportedly returning to content creation.
