The comment marks his first clear public statement about wanting to return to League casting since his departure from Riot’s broadcast team in late 2023.
Henry hasn’t appeared on an LEC or Worlds broadcast since October 2023. He left after an off-air backstage video spread on social media showing him making a Hitler-related gesture and remark while joking around. Riot removed him from broadcasts shortly after the video circulated.
The South African caster joined Riot’s European broadcast in the early 2010s during the EU LCS era. He became one of the most recognizable voices in competitive League. His high-energy play-by-play calls defined countless legendary moments in European League history.
Beyond casting, Henry held leadership roles within Riot’s EMEA broadcast team for years. He helped shape the on-air style and talent development that carried through the LEC rebrand in 2019.
Since leaving Riot, Henry has worked as freelance talent at select non-Riot esports events. But he hasn’t returned to any League of Legends broadcasts for LEC or international tournaments.
A Quickshot-shaped hole
Fans responding to Henry’s comment expressed how much they miss his presence at major events. Multiple people called him the voice of Worlds and the LEC. Others praised his chemistry with former casting partner Deficio and his ability to deliver both hype and humor on the desk.
“You gave us some of the funniest casting and desk hosting in League,” one fan wrote.
His public statement comes as Worlds 2025 continues without several familiar faces from past years. The League esports ecosystem has undergone significant changes since 2022, with budget cuts and restructuring affecting broadcast teams across multiple regions.
Whether Riot would consider bringing Henry back to LEC or Worlds broadcasts remains unclear. Neither Henry nor Riot has commented on any potential plans for his return.
