Fandy broadcast the birth of her daughter live on Twitch in what is believed to be the first childbirth stream on the platform.
The longtime World of Warcraft and variety streamer went live during labor and delivered her baby on camera from a home setting using an inflatable birthing pool. Multiple friends and fellow creators were present in the room during the broadcast.
The stream peaked at around 25,000 concurrent viewers on Fandy’s channel. Several other streamers hosted watch parties, with some estimates placing the combined live audience significantly higher.
Fandy announced the baby’s name as Luna during the broadcast. The stream avoided explicit visuals through careful camera angles, with towels and the waterline of the pool keeping sensitive content off-screen.
Twitch CEO Dan Clancy appeared in chat hours before the delivery to congratulate Fandy. The interaction was captured in screenshots shared across social media and indicates the platform was aware of the stream.
The broadcast ran under the World of Warcraft category. Chat, subscriptions, and bits remained active throughout as with any standard Twitch stream.
Twitch’s content policy typically prohibits explicit nudity but makes exceptions for breastfeeding and certain medical contexts when appropriately framed. Live births have been broadcast on other platforms like YouTube and Facebook, but a real-time delivery stream on Twitch is rare if not unprecedented.
Both mother and baby appeared healthy in the moments immediately following delivery based on what was shown on stream.
