Streamer Penta turned what was supposed to be a routine Arby’s visit into an unplanned work shift when employees invited him and his friends behind the counter during a recent IRL stream. The group had initially arrived at the restaurant to introduce some friends who had never tried Arby’s to the chain’s menu offerings.
Arby’s employees encouraged Penta and his companions to step behind the counter. The restaurant staff provided them with official Arby’s aprons and let them get in on food prep and customer service.
During the stream, Penta and his friends operated meat slicers, put together sandwiches, and even served paying customers. All of these activities happened with zero training, no food handler’s certifications, and no clear go-ahead from the higher-ups—and everything went out live to thousands of viewers.
“Making them try Arby’s for the first time into picking up an actual shift. That’s how they get you man,” one viewer commented as the wild moment played out live.
Maybe the biggest surprise came from management. When a manager finally showed up, instead of pulling the plug on the fun, they reportedly told Penta and his friends they could keep their aprons and were welcome to come back and work more shifts anytime.
Letting non-employees behind the counter is definitely not by-the-book. Usual industry rules are clear—only trained staff should be in the kitchen, especially where sharp equipment is involved or when serving paying customers.
While the stream got plenty of laughs and chatter online, it could have put both the local Arby’s crew and the chain itself in a tricky spot.
