Xbox Wire posted and quickly deleted an announcement for Life is Strange: Reunion about an hour before the game was supposed to be revealed. The page disappeared fast, but not before players captured key details about the upcoming title.

The leaked article described Reunion as a game “by and for fans of the original” that “finally brings Max and Chloe’s saga to a definitive close.” This marks the first mainline Life is Strange game to center on both original protagonists since the 2015 release.

The biggest detail from the leak involves how the game handles player choices. According to the captured text, “Whether Chloe lived or died in Arcadia Bay, and whether she and Max were friends or lovers — these choices are key not just to the past you’ll confirm as you play, but to the future you’ll fight for the chance to build.”

That phrasing directly addresses the original game’s notorious final choice. Players had to decide between sacrificing Chloe Price or letting the entire town of Arcadia Bay get destroyed by a tornado. The binary ending has made any direct sequel complicated since half the fanbase saved Chloe while the other half let her die.

The leaked copy also connected Reunion to Life is Strange: Double Exposure, referencing Max’s ability to “Shift between parallel timelines” from that game. This suggests Reunion will use the timeline-hopping mechanic as an explanation for how the story can account for both major ending variations.

The page listed March 26 as the release date. Xbox Wire hasn’t commented on the early publication.

Max and Chloe return

Life is Strange launched in 2015 as an episodic narrative game developed by Dontnod Entertainment. Max Caulfield discovered she could rewind time and used that power to investigate a missing person case alongside her childhood friend Chloe Price.

The series moved away from Max and Chloe after the original game. Life is Strange 2 and True Colors both featured new protagonists with different supernatural abilities. Double Exposure brought Max back but without Chloe, which disappointed fans who wanted to see their relationship continue.
