League of Legends coach YamatoCannon has signaled he’s likely stepping away from coaching following his work with Los Ratones. He described the project as “perfect for me in every way” and said he doesn’t see what could realistically top that experience.
“Honestly, I think I’m done coaching,” YamatoCannon said. The statement frames his Los Ratones stint as a potential final chapter in his coaching career, though he left the door open to staying involved in League through other roles.
Los Ratones emerged as a competitive project that blended high-level play with content creation and storytelling. Unlike traditional team structures, LR offered a mix of tournament competition and entertainment value that made it stand out from standard organizational setups.
The economics make sense. Coaching at the top level demands long hours, constant travel, and intense pressure with limited job security. Meanwhile, content creation through streaming, co-streaming, and sponsorships can offer comparable or better income with more control over schedule and significantly less stress.
YamatoCannon’s background as an on-camera personality makes broadcast work a natural fit. He’s known for his presence in interviews and team content, and analysis desk or commentary roles would keep him visible in the scene. Content creation through podcasts, co-streams, or long-form YouTube analysis also remains on the table.
