A new leaked video of leaked Grand Theft Auto VI appears to show playable protagonist Jason causing chaos in Vice City while the police build a description of him.
Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive haven’t authenticated the footage. There’s no official word on whether it comes from a current build, an old one, internal test footage, or something fabricated entirely.
What the clip appears to show is a few minutes of outdoor gameplay near water and a bridge. Jason walks and runs through the streets, approaches a fast-food spot, gets into fights with NPCs, uses a knife, and messes around with vehicles, including a police bike.
The most interesting part is the wanted system. On-screen icons show three separate things police can use to identify you: your face, your clothing, and the vehicle you are driving.
An NPC with a phone appears to call the police after witnessing violence. The interface also seems to flag whether a vehicle has a tracker fitted, including the police motorcycle, which would make stolen rides riskier to keep.
Viewers also spotted a red mark on the knife icon in the weapon wheel and guessed it means the weapon is now linked to a crime, but that remains speculation.
Talk of masks, haircuts, and wardrobe changes wiping your description is also guesswork. The clip shows icons, not confirmed countermeasures.
A smaller arsenal and a noise meter
The weapon wheel appears to have around eight slots, with what look like unarmed, melee, pistol, long gun, throwable, and utility categories. Only some of them seem to be firearms.
That has fans comparing it to Red Dead Redemption 2, where you carry a limited loadout. It would be a big change from GTA V, where protagonists haul around a small armory. Nothing’s settled, though, as icons and layouts often change late in development.
While Jason runs, a radial pulse appears around his minimap blip, which viewers read as a noise indicator. GTA V had a similar visual effect alongside stealth movement, so this may be a returning system rather than a new one.
Health looks more involved. The footage references an EpiPen-like item, pills called “Zombix,” and food from a restaurant named “Peewees” that Jason appears able to enter. A message tied to the pills reportedly warns that taking too many causes negative effects.
