Lauren “Pansy” Scott won’t cast at this year’s Valorant Champions. She has confirmed that she’s stepping away from the broadcast following the death of her father.
The British commentator is one of the most recognizable voices in Valorant. She’s best known for play-by-play, calling the action round by round as it plays out. Before Valorant, she built her name on Counter-Strike and PUBG broadcasts.
Pansy hadn’t planned to make her absence public at first. That changed once the tournament was underway. She had been included in the pre-event talent and observer announcement, so fans expected her to show up for the later stages. After she noticed that, she posted to explain why she wouldn’t be there.
Who takes the mic?
Fans quickly started asking how the broadcast would change. Pansy and Hypoc are one of Valorant‘s most familiar casting duos, and many viewers wanted to know who he would work with instead.
Some fans expect Bren and Sideshow to cast the grand final. Those are only predictions. No replacement or updated casting schedule has been officially announced.
Champions is the world championship that closes out every Valorant Champions Tour season. It’s the biggest stage of the year, and that helps explain why so many fans noticed she was missing.
