xQc posted a new personal best time of 16 minutes and 10 seconds in Minecraft speedrunning during a recent stream. The run marks his first PB improvement in more than two years.

Despite the breakthrough, xQc still sits 42 seconds behind Forsen’s 15:28 time. The gap keeps Forsen ahead in their long-running rivalry to claim the fastest time between the two streamers.

The run itself had several costly moments that prevented an even faster finish. xQc traveled blind to locate the stronghold instead of using precise triangulation. He also faced bad blaze spawns in the Nether fortress, which delayed his collection of blaze rods needed to craft Eyes of Ender.

Time slipped away further when xQc searched for wool to craft a bed for the Ender Dragon fight. He eventually abandoned the search and went in without the bed. The dragon’s perch timing also proved unfavorable, adding extra seconds to the final fight.

In Minecraft speedrunning’s any random seed category, every element of luck matters. Nether fortress locations, blaze spawn rates, and stronghold distances all fluctuate wildly between runs. Even with perfect execution, bad RNG can destroy a potential world record pace.

Forty-two seconds represents an enormous gap in speedrunning. For context, top-tier Minecraft speedrunners measure improvements in single-digit seconds or even frames. The distance between xQc’s new PB and Forsen’s benchmark would require both significantly better luck and cleaner execution across multiple segments of the run.
