Félix “xQc” Lengyel called out The Streamer Awards during a recent broadcast for what he claims was intentional exclusion from the show’s highlight compilations.
While watching back footage from the 2025 awards ceremony, xQc noticed that neither he nor Asmongold appeared in the main clip packages showcasing top streaming moments from the past year. This stood out because both are among the most-watched creators on their respective platforms.
What did appear were multiple clips of Hasan Piker, including several IRL and fashion-focused segments from his streams. According to xQc, this wasn’t an accident, it’s because three of the editors work for Hasan, and one for Pokimane.
The Streamer Awards is an annual independent ceremony created and hosted by QTCinderella, with regular involvement from Ludwig. The show honors creators across Twitch, YouTube, and other platforms with categories ranging from gaming to IRL content.
QTCinderella co-hosts a podcast with Hasan and the two are known friends within the LA streaming scene. This relationship, combined with the editor’s alleged connections, forms the basis of xQc’s bias claims.
Forsen, another major creator, was also notably absent from both clips and nominations according to community observations.
When friend groups control the narrative
This controversy highlights ongoing divisions in streaming culture between the interconnected LA creator scene and outsiders who operate independently or have burned bridges with that network.
The Streamer Awards positions itself as a celebration by streamers for streamers rather than a corporate production. But as xQc’s complaints illustrate, that independence doesn’t guarantee neutrality when personal relationships and shared social circles influence editorial decisions behind the scenes.
