Connor “Sliggy” Blomfield is moving his Valorant Champions coverage to Kick. The British analyst and former Team Liquid coach has signed a short-term exclusivity deal with the platform, meaning his watch parties for the tournament will only be available there.
And he says the money is going toward something specific: starting his own pet-rescue charity.
Sliggy framed the payment as life-changing money that he wants to turn into something life-changing. Rather than sitting on it, he plans to use it to get an animal rescue project off the ground far faster than his normal streaming income would allow.
The deal looks tied to Champions rather than being a permanent platform switch. By most accounts it covers roughly the length of the tournament, with a return to his usual channels expected afterward. Sliggy had also been talking about the Kick offer for weeks before pulling the trigger, so it’s not a mid-event surprise.
His Twitch audience and the people who watch his YouTube mirror will need to switch platforms if they want his analysis live. Twitch subs don’t carry over, and there’s no confirmation yet on whether VODs or edited segments will appear on YouTube later.
No contract value has been made public. Sliggy has only described the offer in terms of scale, not numbers, and any figure floating around right now is guesswork. It’s also unclear whether it’s a flat fee, a base plus incentives, or something broader.
Some fans are clapping, others are shopping around
Reaction has been split but mostly warm. A lot of viewers said they won’t follow him to Kick for practical reasons, whether that’s not wanting another account, preferring YouTube on their TV, or already paying for Twitch subs. Several pointed to other Champions co-streams like Tony “Zikz” Gray or Thinking Man’s Valorant as their backup.
Even the people staying away mostly landed on the same note: if someone is going to take Kick money, using it for an animal rescue is a decent way to spend it.
