Bai “369” Jiahao is back on the big stage. The Chinese top laner and his team Top Esports have qualified for the playoffs at the League of Legends World Championship.

He wasn’t supposed to be there.

369 had stepped away from competitive League for some time. He spent part of that break playing Valorant. He came back as an emergency substitute after Zuian couldn’t get a visa to compete.

This isn’t a casual player who got lucky. 369 is one of the most decorated top laners in LPL history.

He won the 2020 LPL Summer title with Top Esports. He then moved to JD Gaming and won three more domestic titles in 2022 Summer, 2023 Spring, and 2023 Summer. He also lifted the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational trophy with JDG.

His Worlds record is just as strong. He reached the semifinals three times, with TES in 2020 and with JDG in 2022 and 2023. A trip to the Worlds knockout stage is familiar ground for him.
