Bilibili Gaming top laner Chen “Bin” Ze-Bin is stepping away from competitive League of Legends for now.
Bin announced the break through his Weibo account. BLG has named academy top laner Wenbo as its starter while he is away.
Neither Bin nor BLG has given a detailed public reason for the break. The announcement is being presented as temporary, and that is where the confirmed facts end.
Bin’s break comes after a rough stretch for BLG at international events. The team lost the MSI final to Hanwha Life Esports, then fell to Dplus KIA at the Esports World Cup.
Bin’s play in those series drew heavy criticism online, from his Aatrox against HLE to his Rumble against DK. But there is no official statement linking those results to his time off.
What it means for BLG
Top lane isn’t a simple plug-and-play swap at this level. Bin’s carry-heavy pool, built on champions like Jax, Fiora, Camille, and Gwen, has let BLG pour draft resources into the top side of the map. A different style from Wenbo could shift how the team handles bans, jungle pathing, and side-lane duties.
Even so, BLG keeps one of the strongest rosters in the LPL. Xun, Knight, Viper, and ON round out a lineup that should stay competitive while Bin rests.
Bin made his name with Suning, reaching the 2020 Worlds final and landing a famous Fiora pentakill in that series against DAMWON. He later won the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational with RNG before joining BLG and becoming one of its central pieces.
