Marc “Caedrel” Lamont spent a T1 versus Dplus KIA champion select calling picks before they hit the screen, and he kept getting them right.
Across the draft, five champions were correctly anticipated by the co-streamer: Cassiopeia, Vi, Xin Zhao, Ezreal, and Ambessa.
The logic wasn’t random. With T1 taking Vi, DK needed a jungler that could match her early tempo and a bot laner that didn’t feed a point-and-click engage.
Ezreal fit both jobs. He was one of the strongest remaining ADC options, and his range lets him poke without sitting inside Vi’s threat zone. Vi’s ultimate can still chase him through Arcane Shift, but Ezreal gets to pick his moments.
Xin Zhao was the tighter call. Jarvan IV and Lee Sin were both live jungle options at the time, so DK had genuine choices. Caedrel went with Xin Zhao, early skirmishing, frontline presence, and an ultimate that carves out space in fights, and got it.
Bard was the one that got away. DK locked it fast enough that there was no window for a clean prediction.
On the other side, Ambessa for Doran was the safest read of the bunch. She has been one of his go-to blind picks, so anyone tracking T1’s top lane had her circled. Cassiopeia, meanwhile, lined up neatly with Faker’s mid options and the remaining pool, offering sustained magic damage and Miasma’s grounding to shut down mobility.
Caedrel has the résumé for this. He played jungle professionally for H2k Gaming and Excel Esports, then moved into the LEC broadcast booth before shifting to full-time streaming and co-streaming. He now runs one of the biggest co-streams in League esports alongside his Los Ratones project.
Not exactly mind reading
Plenty of viewers pointed out the obvious: Vi and Ezreal were top-tier meta priorities, and Ambessa was practically Doran’s signature. Picking those isn’t sorcery.
The counterpoint is that by the back half of a draft, the realistic pool shrinks to a handful of champions. The work is knowing which handful, tracking bans, role gaps, patch priorities, lane matchups, and each player’s comfort list, all while the timer runs.
Live pick prediction isn’t new either. LS built a reputation on calling long LCK sequences, and names like Jatt, IWillDominate, and YamatoCannon do versions of the same on their broadcasts.
Caedrel just did it five times in one draft, on camera, before the teams pressed lock.
