TL;DR
  • Kick is launching a $50,000 competition specifically for creators with fewer than 100 concurrent viewers.
  • The competition offers a $20,000 grand prize for most hours watched plus six $5,000 category prizes across IRL, Just Chatting, and gaming content.
  • Only streamers residing in the United States can participate, with winners to be announced at DreamHack Dallas on May 24, 2025.

Streaming platform Kick has teamed up with analytics provider Streams Charts to launch the Kick Road campaign, a competition targeting emerging creators that will run from April 2 to May 23, 2025.

The campaign restricts entry to streamers averaging fewer than 100 concurrent viewers before the start date, creating what the companies call “a fair playing field” for smaller content creators. However, the fine print reveals participants must reside in the 50 United States to qualify, limiting international participation despite Kick’s global user base.

“Working with Kick on Kick Road allows us to support creators by providing reliable data and insights,” said Nazar Babenko, Product Manager at Streams Charts. “Our goal is to make tracking progress easy and transparent, contributing to a fair and engaging competition.”

The competition structure includes a $20,000 grand prize for the creator generating the most Hours Watched during the seven-week period. Six additional $5,000 prizes target specific content categories: IRL, Just Chatting, Respect RP (GTA), Art, Live Music, and Gaming (excluding GTA RP).

This partnership continues Kick’s efforts to expand its creator base after launching in 2022. The platform, which claims over 52 million users, has consistently promoted its 95/5 subscription revenue split as more creator-friendly than competing services.

Winners will be announced at DreamHack Dallas on May 24, where Kick serves as an official partner. Participating creators’ content will also feature prominently at the Kick booth throughout the gaming festival.

Whether this initiative will significantly boost Kick’s creator ecosystem remains to be seen, though limiting eligibility to US-based streamers may reduce its potential global impact.
