Destiny is calling out Pokimane. He accuses her of judging Atrioc by one standard and her friend Hasan Piker by another.
His argument is simple. Pokimane has made clear she’s still uncomfortable with Atrioc after his 2023 deepfake scandal. But she stays friends with Hasan, who Destiny says once celebrated leaked nude photos of celebrities.
The Hasan claim is the center of Destiny’s argument, and it’s the shakiest part. He says Hasan celebrated celebrity photo leaks in the past.
Many people online assume it’s about the 2014 leak known as “Celebgate.” In that case, hackers broke into private email and cloud accounts and stole intimate photos of many celebrities. Several men were later prosecuted in the US.
Destiny’s point is about consistency, not about the two cases being identical. They’re different in key ways. Stolen photos are real private images. Deepfakes are fake sexual images made with someone’s face. Allegedly cheering on a leak and paying to access a deepfake site are also different actions.
