Alleged character design sketches for the next mainline Persona game have leaked online, with the images first appearing on the Chinese social platform Xiaohongshu before spreading across gaming forums.
The unverified material looks like production-style character sheets rather than gameplay shots. Original links were reportedly taken down soon after they started circulating, but copies have already made the rounds.
The two main figures shown are a blonde male character with a short, rounded haircut wearing a pale school-style uniform, and a short-haired female character with what appears to be darker, possibly purplish hair. Some versions of her design feature an earpiece or small microphone.
Alongside the sketches, file names allegedly tied to the leak include a list of Japanese names that fans have translated as Kusakabe Rinko, Takimoto Touma, Okami Renji, Nishiura Akari, Nakasono Nana, Senba Shina, and Mamiya Asami. Another file reportedly references a mascot character with a name resembling “Nilfa” or “Nirufaa,” which would line up with Persona‘s tradition of non-human companions like Teddie and Morgana.
A separate file label mentioning a character “without an apron” has led to guesses about a shop or café-based social link.
Fans are split on the art itself. Some believe it matches the sketch style of longtime Persona artist Shigenori Soejima, while others think another P-Studio artist may be leading character design this time around. A claim that the work resembles animator Mai Yoneyama has also pushed speculation that an outside studio may be handling cutscenes, though nothing’s confirmed.
Atlus has a long history of projects leaking before reveal, from Persona 3 Reload to various ports and remaster rumors, which is part of why fans are taking these images seriously.
The timing has many expecting a Persona 6 reveal soon, with guesses pointing at a State of Play, Summer Game Fest, or The Game Awards. No announcement window has been confirmed, and even if the sketches are real, they may be early concept work that doesn’t match the final designs.
