A new Justice track is joining Grand Theft Auto VI‘s original score. And the French duo is not working alone: this track is featuring Gesaffelstein.
The track is part of the game’s original score, not the radio. GTA radio stations are packed with licensed songs. A score is music made for the game itself, such as missions, cutscenes, and gameplay moments. Rockstar often uses both.
Rockstar has gone big on original music before. Grand Theft Auto V‘s score came from Tangerine Dream, Woody Jackson, The Alchemist, and Oh No. For Max Payne 3, the band HEALTH made music for the game, including the fan-favorite “Tears.”
The pairing makes sense on paper. Justice is Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay, who formed the duo in Paris in 2003. Their 2007 debut Cross gave the world “D.A.N.C.E.,” “Genesis,” and “Stress.” Woman Worldwide won the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2019. Their latest album, Hyperdrama (2024), includes collaborations with Tame Impala.
Gesaffelstein is French producer Mike Lévy. He’s known for dark, industrial techno on albums like Aleph, Hyperion, and Gamma. He’s also produced with the Weeknd on “I Was Never There” and “Lost in the Fire.”
Both acts love hard rhythms, rough electronic sounds, and big dramatic shifts.
