A Zelda anniversary edition of the Nintendo Switch 2 and matching Switch 2 Pro Controller in separate packaging have allegedly leaked online, although Nintendo hasn’t announced either product.
The alleged console package is fairly restrained. Instead of a full gold shell, the design reportedly uses gold Zelda symbols and a Triforce as accents, paired with colored Joy-Con 2 controllers.
Those colored Joy-Con 2s are the detail people latched onto, since the standard Switch 2 hardware is deliberately plain. If real, it’d suggest Nintendo is willing to go further than small accent strips on themed units.
The Pro Controller in the images reportedly features a triangular Triforce-style pattern, gold detailing, and a single green grip, making the whole thing asymmetrical. Opinions on that split immediately.
Everything else is a blank. There’s no confirmed product name, model number, price, release date, preorder window, region list, or production run. Nothing indicates whether the themed Joy-Con 2s would ever be sold on their own, or whether the Pro Controller ships with the console.
The timing at least makes commercial sense. The Legend of Zelda launched in Japan on 21 February 1986, making 2026 the series’ 40th anniversary. Nintendo has form here too, with gold Triforce 3DS systems, the Wind Waker HD Wii U bundle, Majora’s Mask and A Link Between Worlds editions, and the Tears of the Kingdom OLED and Pro Controller.
Fans have also tied the leak to Ocarina of Time remake. That game hasn’t been announced, and the alleged branding looks franchise-wide rather than tied to any single title: one look at the design and it doesn’t read as Ocarina of Time at all.
