According to a report from Sheep Esports, FNATIC star Emirhan “Alfajer” Bedir is set to join Gentle Mates for the 2027 season.
Alfajer, FNATIC, and Gentle Mates haven’t confirmed anything yet.
Alfajer is known as an elite sentinel and flex player with some of the sharpest aim in the region. He’s at his best on Killjoy and Cypher. He’s also shown he can switch to aggressive picks like Raze when the team needs it.
He came up in the Turkish scene, most notably with Surreal Esports. FNATIC picked him up in 2022 as part of a big rebuild.
He’s still young but already has years of top-level experience. That combination makes him one of the most wanted players in EMEA.
The face of a golden era
Alfajer was a core part of FNATIC’s legendary 2023 lineup alongside Boaster, Derke, Chronicle, and Leo.
That team won VCT LOCK//IN in São Paulo, beating LOUD in the grand final. A few months later, it won Masters Tokyo too. Winning two international events in a row made that roster one of the best in Valorant history.
Alfajer held sites, won big duels, and closed out clutch rounds. He wasn’t a short-term signing. He grew into one of the faces of the club.
If he leaves, FNATIC loses one of the last big names from that core. Boaster, Chronicle, and Derke have also been linked with exits. FNATIC would need to replace a star player and figure out who its next team is built around.
A big step up for Gentle Mates
Gentle Mates is the French organization founded by Squeezie, Gotaga, and Brawks. It earned its place in top-level EMEA play by winning Challengers Ascension EMEA 2023.
Signing a two-time international champion would be its most ambitious move yet. Alfajer brings trophies, name value, and years of experience at the highest level.
Fans are already excited about a possible duo of Alfajer and Martin “marteen” Pátek. Two players who can win rounds on aim alone would be a scary sight for any opponent. Proxh has also been named as part of a possible core. However, the 2027 status of marteen and Proxh hasn’t been confirmed.
